Why Capex Fencing

Built to pass.
Guaranteed.

Most pool fences fail first inspection because they're installed to approximate standards — not built to current ACT/NSW regulations. That means delays, re-inspection fees, and stress. We build to comply from day one. Every time.

Built to ACT/NSW regulations from day one

Every install is designed to current standards before we lift a tool — not adjusted afterwards.

We know what certifiers look for

Gate self-closing, latch height, climbable zones, gap widths — we build to exact requirements, every time.

Certification support available

We guide you through the ACT pool barrier certificate process or connect you with an accredited certifier.

Pool Fence Compliance — ACT & NSW

Strict rules.
We know them all.

Pool fencing regulations in the ACT and NSW are stricter than most homeowners realise. A fence that looks right can still fail inspection. We build to current standards from day one — so there are no surprises when the certifier arrives.

Minimum 1200mm height

The barrier must be at least 1200mm high with no gaps exceeding 100mm. We build to this as standard on every install.

2

Self-closing, self-latching gates

Gates must open away from the pool and latch automatically. Latch height minimum 1500mm. All included in every install.

3

No climbable zones

Nothing within 900mm of the fence that a child could use to climb. We assess your entire pool area, not just the fence line.

Does my pool fence need to meet ACT/NSW compliance?

Yes. Under ACT and NSW law, all swimming pools and spas must be enclosed by a compliant barrier. Requirements cover gate self-closing, latch height, climbable zones, fence height, and gaps. Non-compliant barriers can result in fines and complications when selling.

How do I get a pool barrier certificate in the ACT?

Once installed, you need an inspection from an accredited certifier. We can guide you through this process or connect you with a certifier directly. We build to pass — so the inspection is straightforward.

What's the minimum height for a pool fence?

At least 1200mm, with no gaps exceeding 100mm. Gate latches must be on the inside and at least 1500mm from the ground. We handle all of this as standard on every install.

Can I use an existing wall as part of my pool barrier?

Sometimes yes — walls and the house itself can form part of the barrier if they meet specific requirements. We'll assess your entire site during the free quote.

How long does pool fence installation take?

Most residential pool fence installs are completed in one day. Larger or more complex sites may take two days. We give you a clear timeline when we quote.

Do you install pool gates?

Yes — every pool fence includes a compliant self-closing, self-latching gate that opens away from the pool. This is included as standard, not an add-on.
